Isaac Aidoo is a development Planner and Project Management by profession; holds degrees in BSc. Development Planning (2010) and MSc. Project Management (2017) both from Kwame Nkrumah University of Technology, Ghana. I am a member of Ghana Institute of Planners (MGIP) and also a member of Project Management Institute (MPMI). Currently Isaac is a Senior Development Planning Officer working at Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA).

Isaac has over 8 years’ experience working in project design and implementation, procurement, participatory planning and budgeting, citizen engagement and social accountability engagement in a multi-dimensional approach. Isaac is currently the Project Coordinator for the 3-year European Union funded Twin-Cities in Sustainable Partnership Project (TCSPP) being implemented in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana and Palermo, Italy.

Have worked as the HIV Focal Person for STMA since 2014 to date where I facilitate and monitor activities of NGOs in the Metropolis. Key among them are Life Relief Foundation, West Africa AIDS Foundation, Rural AID

Alliance Foundation, Africa Women International, Hope for Future Generation working in STMA to help end HIV & AIDS by 2030. Some of the key projects worked together with Life Relief Foundation include the Strengthening HIV/AIDS Response Partnership with Evidence-based Results (SHARPER) Project and USAID/WVG SCASO PROJECT (Strengthening Community Care and Support for Orphans).

Isaac Aidoo is one of the pioneers’ coordinators of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Subnational pilot program now OGP Local Program since 2016 and leads STMA as the OGP Point of Contact; played a key role leading to Sekondi-Takoradi selection among the 15 pioneers’ cities to join OGP in April 2016 and further leading STMA to join CoST - the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative in 2018. Joining the OGP Local has resulted in positive change, in terms of the co-creation and implementation of two OGP Local Action Plans with commitments in the areas of infrastructure transparency, access to information, inclusive participation, and citizen-centric municipal service delivery. Co-created the 3rd OGP Local Action 2022-2024 and published by the OGP International in August 2022 focuses on enhancing effectiveness in municipal service delivery, strengthening government accountability, and broadening the civic space for ordinary citizens and civil society to actively participate in local governance.

Since joining CoST, Isaac has been working to create a strategic platform for information sharing and joint advocacy with key stakeholders at different levels in the delivery of public infrastructure projects. Isaac is great team leader as he has successfully led STMA to develop and implement two OGP Local Action Plans. He has participated and delivered presentations on social accountability issues, how government and citizens can work together to improve service delivery at the local level and at several OGP summit and CoST events globally such as 4th and 5th Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summits in Paris, France 2016 and in Tbilisi, Georgia 2018. CoST Africa Regional and international events in Lilongwe, Malawi 2018, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 2019 and Bangkok, Thailand 2019, Hivos/AFIC Regional Workshop on Open Contract and the 12th East Africa Procurement Forum-Arusha, Tanzania 2019. Government Partnership Africa and Middle East Regional Meeting, Marrakech, Morocco 2022.

At STMA, Isaac has worked on several projects which include the Ghana Urban Management Pilot Project, the Local Government Capacity Support Project, the District Development Facility, the Sanitation Challenge for Ghana Competition, Inclucity Project etc.
